Word Records, Inc.

Waco, Texas-based record company which issued Christian-themed audio releases. It was the parent company of the Word label. Its releases were distributed by the Word Distributing Company. The company was established in 1953. Around 1967 the company merged with the Word Distributing Company to form Word, Inc. Sometimes the company is mentioned as "Word Records Incorporated". In that case, use "Word Records, Inc." (this entry) instead.
