Founded in September 1948 by Murray Wizell and Joe Davis (4). Wizell held only 25% of the stock and Joe Davis (4) the remaining 75%. Their partnership broke up a little over a month later. Davis bought out Wizell's share and assumed ownership of the song "In My Dreams", but revived his own publishing company Beacon Music and left Wizell the rights to the company name, Murray Wizell Music. The company was originally affiliated with BMI, but later changed to ASCAP.
