Started in Chicago by Martti Payne. In 1998 Olympic gained nationwide major label distribution via PGD/Mercury/Polygram (now UMD) via a deal with fellow Chicago based label Slipdisc Records. Olympic was bought by Century Media in 2003 and later closed in 2005 due to trademark violation enforcement by the US Olympic Committee. (**NOW DEFUNCT**)
