The Impulse! Reissue Series

1995-1997 limited edition series of Impulse reissues remastered from analog. These can only be definitively distinguished by the runouts, which say MASTERED BY CAPITOL. The 1995 series initially featured the orange sticker pictured and the verbiage "heavy virgin vinyl." The weight exceeds 180 grams. Listings should NOT say 180 grams in notes or FTF. All have "Mastered by Capitol" stamped in the runout and none have a circled U. Deadwax is signed Wally (Wally Traugott) or Kev (Kevin Reeves). The 1997 series switched to custom blue-bordered stickers in the initial run. Again distinguished by MASTERED BY CAPITOL in runouts, this time with RM (Ron McMaster) signing the runouts. These say 180 gram on the sticker. Some subsequent copies can be found with no sticker or different stickers but cut from the same analog-sourced MASTERED BY CAPITOL lacquers. Some have the circled U indicating pressed at United. Later, these were reissued with different lacquer cuts that are NOT part of the Impulse! Reissue Series. Except for the hype stickers, the art is the same (including Limited Edition on the labels, so that tag remains appropriate). Both original series have rim text on the label that differs from later pressings, generally extending approximately 9 to 3 o'clock, while the reissues extend further. The reissues are pressed at United with the circled U logo. The first set of reissues have GEO in the deadwax. The more recent set have WG/NRP. These versions should not use 1995 or 1997 as dates as they came out in the 2000s. In 2015, A Love Supreme was issued with TML in the runouts.
