Haven

With music director / A&R experience from numerous jazz clubs along midtown Manhattan's famed 52nd Street, Bob Shad, (along with his brother Morty), launched Haven Records, Inc in the Spring of 1946. The small independent label was originally distributed through Chester Records with a list price of 79¢, and operated through their mail-order / retail record shop in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY.
