Sound Station Seven, sometimes stylized as "Sound Station 7", was a recording & mastering studio in Providence, RI, owned and operated by John Jacobson. It opened in 1997 and closed sometime in 2003 or early 2004. It was housed in an old firehouse dating back to 1871, once referred to as “hose number seven” or “ladder number seven", hence the name Sound Station Seven. Both John Jacobson and Robert Pemberton were the studio's builders and engineers. Sound Station Seven served a variety of local and internationally known artists, including Lightning Bolt, The Amazing Crowns, Dropdead, Roomful of Blues, Arab On Radar, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Combustible Edison, Neptune, Joey McIntyre, Juliana Hatfield, Either/Orchestra and many others. Some of the studio's equipment was acquired by Machines With Magnets in Pawtucket, RI whose current location at 400 Main Street opened in 2007.
