Performance arts hall located within the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The center located between Kansas City's downtown skyline and Crossroads arts district and was designed by architect Moshe Safdie, the building's two performance halls include the Muriel Kauffman Theatre, home to the Kansas City Ballet and Lyric Opera of Kansas City; and the 1,600-seat Helzberg Hall, which includes a custom-built Julia Irene Kauffman Casavant Organ, Opus 3875. The center's grand opening took place in September 2011 after the plans had been discussed since 1994 and ground was initially broken in October 2006.
