From the beginning the studio was situated in the residential building shared by the families of the members of Gnags. In 1976 as Gnags were to record their third album, to keep costs low they started recording in their rehearsal room. Gradually - with the bands growing success - the studio became more and more well-equipped and was soon made available to other artists, primarily the local and provincial ones. By the 80's, as Aarhus became just as important to the pop music industry as capital Copenhagen, several major Danish artists both recorded at the studio and was signed to Gnags's label Genlyd. In 1984 Tom R. Andersen was employed as producer and engineer, working together with Gnags guitarist Jacob Riis-Olsen a.o. The popularity of the studio decreased after the millennium - as did Gnags's own recording activity and sales - and by 2011 the studio folded. The recording equipment was taken over by the sole remaining engineer Magnus Vad to open his own studio Feedback Studiet, Lydhavnen in 2012.
