Complete Mozart Edition

In 1990, Philips released a 180 CD box set called the Complete Mozart Edition, a set of 45 themed box set to mark the bicentenary of Mozart's death in 1791. Each box set within the whole was released separately in 1990 and 1991. The set was released in two version: International, and German (Die vollständige Mozart-Edition). Each volume contained from one to twelve CDs housed in jewel cases inside a cardboard slipcase. The full set (International) is Philips catalog number 422 500-2. Individual Volume releases (International) are Philips catalog numbers 422 501-2 through 422 545-2. Individual Volume releases (German) are Philips catalog numbers 426 875-2 through 426 900-2. The Complete Mozart Edition was reissued in 2000 as the The Complete Compact Mozart Edition. The reissue consists of 17 individual sets in flip-top card boxes with the CDs in paper sleeves. Each volume contains from five to thirteen CDs. The full set is Philips catalog number 464 660-2 .The individual Volume releases are Philips catalog numbers 464 7702 through 464 9402, in increments of ten. The 2000 reissue volume designations and contents do not match those of the 1990 edition. Do not add 2000 reissues to a 1990 Master Releases. The Complete Compact Mozart Edition was issued in digital format by as 0289 464 6602 5. It is no longer (2020) available, having been superseded by released in 2016.
