Built 1910-1914 the complex contains two concert halls, a library, administrative rooms, and class rooms used by the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (Mozarteum University of Salzburg). The concert halls consist of:
- Large Hall (Großer Saal) with 807 seats, which is used as a concert venue by the Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum and the Salzburger Festspiele.
- Vienna Hall (Wiener Saal) with 200 seats, which is used for chamber concerts.
The complex also includes Mozart's birthplace, which has been used as a recording location.
