Art Sound Records

Art Sound Records was an EBM/Synthpop/Post-Industrial label, based in Bünzen, Switzerland. It was founded by Sebastian Koch in March 1989 as a part of the Swiss music magazine New Life. New Life Soundmagazine was first issued in 1983. It was conceived as a Depeche Mode fanzine, but became very popular in the scene when it started focussing on EBM, Synthpop and Post-Industrial music. Originally the fanzine was issued in Switzerland, later in Germany and Sweden (in connection with the Swedish label Front Music Production). Since 1989, some issues contained 7" singles by New Life's own home label Art Sound Records.
