Golden Voice Studios

1960s-1970s recording studio in South Pekin, Illinois, founded by Jerry Milam and his wife Mary Ann. Also credited as Golden Voice Recording Company. For the studio's related labels, see Golden Voice (4), Milam, and Thunder Records (32). Notable artists that recorded at the studio include REO Speedwagon, Styx, Dan Fogelberg, and Head East. Additionally mixing engineer Andy Wallace got his start at Golden Voice. The studio was originally located in the basement of the Milam's home, until they built a stand-alone facility in 1966. A fire that was believed to be started by arson destroyed the studio in 1978.
