The British branch was installed in 1967. Up to this date, the UK releases had been manufactured and distributed by E.M.I. Records (The Gramophone Co. Ltd.). Manufacturing continued to be outsourced to The Gramophone Co. Ltd. from 1967 until 1970. Polydor Records Ltd. assumed production and distribution of the MGM label in 1971. Variations are: M.G.M. Records Ltd. and on early releases MGM Records Limited
