Originally founded in Oslo in 1919 as Norsk Telefunken Radioaktieselskap, and reestablished as "Nera" in 1947. The company's main business was manufacturing and sales of high technologic telecommunication- and radio equipment, as well as grammophone records. Nera was in the 1950's the Norwegian representative/manufacturer of the labels Capitol Records, Cupol, Metronome, Musica (2), Pathé, RCA, and Sonora (2).
In 1972, A/S Nera transferred all record company activities to their new daughter company A/S Disco.
