Qdisc was a vinyl 33 rpm identical in size to those of a common long-playing containing 4 or 5 tracks, with an average duration of about half of a traditional LP (almost 17-20 min.). Qdisc was launched in October 1980 only for the Italian music market by RCA Italiana, at the time custodian's name and brand. The production ended four years later in 1984. Historically Qdisc was a "Series" of 33 rpm produced by RCA Italiana and satellite labels as it, Numero Uno, Zerolandia, etc.: they all reported the logo "Qdisc" on the cover and on the labels. RCA cataloged them in a different way from other 33 rpm also because their price was much lower than that of normal albums. Other Italian labels such as Ricordi, Durium, Ariston followed in those same years the example of RCA, releasing Mini-LP 33 RPM with 4-5 songs, in respect of which today the term Qdisc (with its variants spelling "Q-disk", "Q Disc", etc.)
