Howard Schwartz Recording, Inc. (also known as HSR Studios and hsr|ny) was a prominent American recording, mastering, sound engineering and post-production studio in New York City, opened by Howie Schwartz in April 1975. HSR Studios worked for almost 40 years, until June 2014, and it was one of New York's most significant audio production facilities, with fourteen fully-equipped studios occupying over 22,000 ft². Howard Schwartz Recording was located in the Graybar Building next to Grand Central Station at the crossing of Lexington Avenue and 43rd Street. Other name variations: HSR/NY, HSRNY.
In the past, Howard Schwartz Recording studios provided a complete range of services for music recording, voiceovers, sound design, mixing, and editing for TV, radio, film and web. Some of HSR's notable clients over the years included DreamWorks Pictures, Blue Sky, Fox, Disney, Pixar, Warner Bros. Records, Paramount Pictures, Oprah Winfrey, ABC Records, NBC, CBS, PBS, Viacom, ESPN, HBO, Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi, MTV, VH1, and other recording studios, broadcasters & advertisement agencies.
