Diamond (7)

This is a label, its parent company is Diamond Records Limited. Diamond Records was an independent British Hong Kong label established in 1960. During their existence, they issued various series of albums made up of Mandarin and English originals, Mandarin versions of English songs, English versions of Mandarin songs, and ‘bilingual’ songs mixing English and Mandarin. The company acquired by Polydor in 1970, and that would establish a PolyGram office in Hong Kong, which evolves into Universal Music Ltd., Hong Kong. 1970 is considered as the year of Universal Music Hong Kong's establishment, despite starting its operation as a successor to Diamond Records.
