French recording studio founded in 1966 by Bernard Estardy (chief engineer), Georges Chatelain (director), Janine Bisson and Gunther Loof. CBE stands for Chatelain-Bisson-Estardy.
The studio was technologically cutting-edge and on the forefront of experimentation and innovation. It was the first studio in France to use 8-track; in 1972 24-track equipment was installed.
Currently operated by Julie Estardy (label, publishing, booking).
