Megaphone Studio
Настоящее имя: Megaphone Studio
Megaphone Studios was an American private recording and mixing facility opened circa 1992 by a renowned experimental musician, producer and sound engineer Jason Willett in Baltimore, Maryland. Jason just moved there from his hometown Frederick, a Maryland city around 80 km from Baltimore and DC, and initially set up the tiny "bedroom production" studio in the basement of Fred Collins, a local artist with whom Willett recently started playing in The Pleasant Livers. Around 1994, Jason Willett formed The Dramatics with a local artist and filmmaker Martha Colburn, and their debut self-titled album became an inaugural release on Willett's latest imprint, Megaphone Limited. He soon relocated Megaphone Studios into Martha's 5,000 ft²-warehouse in downtown Baltimore.
Jason Willett recorded many notable albums at his studio, working extensively with Jad Fair (they recorded over 1,500 songs), bands and formations from the Megaphone Limited roster, and other prominent artists and bands, who recorded or performed live at Megaphone Studios between 1994 and '98, including Dirty Three, Jérôme Noetinger, Spaceheads, Mick Hobbs, Ruins and Tatsuya Yoshida, Jac Berrocal, Caroline Kraabel and John Edwards, Ron Anderson, 99 Hooker, James Chance, and Dawson.
