Yoshi's

San Francisco Bay Area Japanese restaurant and jazz club currently with locations in Oakland and San Francisco. Named after Yoshi Akiba who started a Japanese restaurant in Berkeley with her friends Kaz Kajimura and Hiroyuki Hori. After relocating to Claremont Avenue in Oakland, California, the club began featuring live jazz concerts. In 1997, the club moved to Jack London Square. In November 2007, Yoshi's opened a second location in San Francisco's Fillmore District. Roy Haynes was the opening act the new San Francisco club.
