Disorient
Настоящее имя: Disorient
British house music label.
Disorient started in 1997 By Gavin Smith as an extension of the Mr Bongo record shop in Tokyo, and its affiliated label with the same name. The idea for Disorient was to release more Japanese artists in Europe who couldn't get the exposure and whose releases couldn't get into the Western market, due to the weighty import prices.
After years of massive club-hits such as Kaori's cover-version of Innercity's "Good Life" or the Masters At Work's remixes of Atmosfear's "Dancing In Outer Space", Disorient still continued featuring Japanese artists such as Su-Paka-Pooh from possibly one of the most important Japanese house labels, Flower Records.
Disorient focussed, like its parent label, on lots of very latin-influenced rhythms (like the whole Japanese scene in general) but is definitely 'housier' than its parent label, Mr Bongo.
