Bestway Products Inc.

Defunct injection-molding record pressing plant which was located in Mountainside, New Jersey, USA. Founded in 1946 and active until the mid-1980s. The company pressed for labels such as Bell, Scepter, Yew, etc. Bestway's Founder, Al Massler, was responsible for pioneering the manufacturing practice of using styrene to press records (particularly 45's). Often marked with a "B", "BW", "BEST", or oblique "Bestway" stamped in run-out. "BW" may be found also in the label matrix. Mid-1960s Bestway pressings exist with a very small spade [♤] outline with an S (or 5 or 6 or 9) inside, approximately 2mm overall. Pressing plant ID number "19" is sometimes found printed on the center labels of US Mercury/Polydor/PolyGram releases. For Test Pressings stating "The Bestway Group" please use The Bestway Group.
