American recording studio founded in 1937 by James V. Siracuse in Detroit, Michigan. It became the first independent and full service major recording studio in the United States, and hosted sessions for such acts as Isaac Hayes, Funkadelic, Bob Seger, and The Dramatics, among others. In 1972, the legendary Stax producer Don Davis (2) purchased the studio.
