The facility was used as a cinema before Anders Burman opened Metronome Studio for his Metronome label in the 1950s. The studio was initially run by Anders Burman and Börje Ekberg along with resident sound technician Rune Persson, who worked as chief engineer between 1954-1980. Anders Burman sold the facility in 1979 to WEA International Inc., thus becoming WEA-Metronome Studio, who subsequently sold it in 1983 to Janne Hansson and his wife Katarina Sandberg Hansson who renamed it Atlantis Studio.

Janne Hansson (began his career as sound technician at Metronome in the very early 1970s).
