Meridian Audio (formerly known as Boothroyd Stuart Meridian) is a British hi-fi audio/video equipment manufacturer founded by John R. "Bob" Stuart and Allen Boothroyd in 1977 and headquartered in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Originally launched as Boothroyd-Stuart, the company presented the first product under "Meridian" brand in 1985, an audiophile CD player Meridian MCD. The brand has also collaborated with several prominent automakers and consumer electronics brands, including LG Electronics Inc. and Jaguar Land Rover. Bob Stuart resigned from the company in September 2017.
In addition to a wide range of consumer-oriented Hi-Fi and Home Theater products, Meridian Audio introduced two professional digital audio solutions: an MLP (Meridian Lossless Packing) codec used in DVD-Audio in 1998 and the lossy format MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) in 2014.
