Emil Berliner Studios
Настоящее имя: Emil Berliner Studios
German studio founded by Emile Berliner (the inventor of the gramophone and gramophone record), based in Berlin, Germany.
Originally established in 2000, as "Emil Berliner Studios - Deutsche Grammophon GmbH" for all services, such as implementation of recording sessions, recording practice and technology, mastering of tapes, lacquer cutting.
In 2007 DGG/Universal gave up large portions of the company-owned Emil Berliner Studios. The departments for CD Mastering and Media Authoring carried on as independent companies (Eastside Mastering Studios, and Platin Media Productions).
In 2008, by way of management buy-out, Emil Berliner Studios - Deutsche Grammophon GmbH was renamed and the new independent company EBS Productions GmbH & Co. KG established, carrying on as Emil Berliner Studios.
In 2009, the management of EBS decided to move business from Hannover/Langenhagen to Berlin. The VMS80 lathe was relocated to Berlin in 2010. Since then all vinyl cuts can be identified by the EBS etching in runouts. The mastering/cutting engineer's initials are almost always added also.
