Die Drei ???
Настоящее имя: Die Drei ???
Die Drei ??? (alternatively: Die Drei Fragezeichen; translated: The Three Question Marks) is a hugely popular series of radio plays based around the adventures of three juvenile investigators named Justus Jonas (in the English language original: Jupiter Jones (3)), Peter Shaw (Pete Crenshaw) and Bob Andrews (Bob Andrews (5)).
Created and originally written by US American Robert Arthur for a series of novels under the series title "Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators." After Arthur's death in 1969, the series was continued by other authors and finally halted in 1990. After Hitchcock's death in 1980, he was dropped as a character, and the series was renamed "The Three Investigators."
In West Germany, the "Die Drei ???", all original books have been translated and adapted into radio plays ("Hörspiele") under the constant auspices of Europa's Heikedine Körting. Today, the three titular characters are still voiced by the original actors Andreas Fröhlich, Oliver Rohrbeck and Jens Wawrczeck. After the series ceased in the USA, German-language authors continued to create new adventures (Brigitte Johanna Henkel-Waidhofer's no. 57 being the first of these), with the series still going strong to this day and enjoying guest performances from artists like Martin Semmelrogge, Dirk Bach, Amanda Lear and Fettes Brot.
Fun fact: As of 2011, the series is the only product in Europa's repertoire still released on cassette, and "Die Drei ???" is the world's best-selling series of radio plays.
