Venue / club in Hamburg, Germany. In Hamburg vernacular the club is called only "GROSSE FREIHEIT" or even only "DIE FREIHEIT". With a street as famous as Grosse Freiheit, it means something when a single house number becomes its synonym. For most visitors, the meaning is not only that they go dancing here so often on weekends, but also that they are a big part of the legendary concerts they have experienced here - and who hasn't performed everything here since 1985, from Neil Young to Rio Reiser, Robbie Williams and Pearl Jam to the Fantastischen Vier and Westernhagen. It is no exaggeration to say that GROSSE FREIHEIT 36 has written musical history and is still writing musical history. World famous was the STAR CLUB, which was located diagonally opposite and which founded the world fame of the Beatles.
