Phonodisc, Inc.

Also credited as Phonodisc Incorporated. US distribution company of PolyGram. Established on October 30, 1973 after PolyGram bought United Distributing Co. (UDC) from United Artists and renamed the company. Primarily the distributor of Polydor, MGM and UA and later also MCA. US Phonogram/Mercury moved to Phonodisc on June 1 1975. Headquartered in Los Angeles. Renamed to PolyGram Distribution, Inc. in March 1978 but appeared until at least 1980 on some releases. For Capricorn Records the Distributed By Phonodisc, Inc. appears on their labels through their last releases in 1979. See also Phonodisc (9).
