Established in 1940 by Emil Söderström (born 1908, died 1986). The name "Mile" was created by shifting the letters of his own name "Emil". The company was originally on Kronobergsgatan in Stockholm but moved to Turebergs allé in Sollentuna. From the beginning, the production mainly consisted of general publications such as envelopes, letterheads and leaflets. The production of record labels and covers began in 1953. The company had its heydays in the 1970s when they provided prints for the record company Polar for the entire Nordic market. The company went bankrupt in 1993 due to the breakthrough of the CD and economic recession in Sweden. Norrmalmstryckeriet bought the company and took over the premises in Sollentuna.
