Kudu

US soul jazz label founded by Creed Taylor in July 1971, as a subsidiary label of CTI Records. Label Code: LC 2522 / LC 02522 The label was formed in order to showcase more 'commercial' artists than CTI, with a focus on R&B jazz and blues-oriented jazz music. Please use Kudu (4) for bootlegs The label became inactive around 1979, was revived again in 1983 with Side Star from Grover Washington, Jr., again in 1993 with the soundtrack Music From & Inspired By The Film "The Devil's Toothpick", and finally with the acid-jazz project Evolution - Acid Jazz in 1996. Many of the label's titles remained in print in Japan with the I Love Kudu series.
