The National Jazz Museum, Harlem, New York City
Настоящее имя: The National Jazz Museum, Harlem, New York City
American museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating jazz history, founded in 1997 and based in New York. For over 15 years, the National Jazz Museum in Harlem (NJMH) was located in East Harlem at East 126th Street, relocating to its current location in Central Harlem in February 2016.
In August 2010, NJMH acquired a private collection of William A. Savory (1916—2004), comprised of almost a thousand 12/16" broadcast 33⅓ RPM "acetates" with some of the most prominent US jazz performers of the swing era, from Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday to Count Basie, Lester Young and Benny Goodman. The priceless collection has been gradually digitized and restored by Brooklyn-based recording engineer Doug Pomeroy, who handles sound "cleaning" and noise reduction, pitch-correction, mixing and mastering. In addition to various digital downloads on iTunes, Mosaic Records released The Savory Collection 1935-1940 limited-edition 6xCD set with Savory's archival recordings.
