Independent Label Sales. US marketing and distribution company. When PolyGram took over Island in 1989, Island Trading Co. was renamed to Independent Label Sales (I.L.S.) and began selling exclusively to other big distributors, complementing PolyGram's main distribution unit, PolyGram Group Distribution, Inc. (PGD). Merged with Universal Music & Video Distribution, Inc. in December 1998.
