Trackdown

Australian sound production company, whose main facilities are now located in Moore Park, Sydney, New South Wales. Sometimes credited as Trackdown Studios or Trackdown Studio, and see also Trackdown Studios, Bondi Junction, Trackdown Studios, Camperdown, Trackdown Digital Studios, and Trackdown Studios, Sydney Trackdown began as a rehearsal and 4-track recording business called “The Studio", founded by Simon Leadley and Geoff Watson. It moved to a location in Bondi Junction in the late 80's, and in 1990 a new complex was built at 62-69 Church Street, Camperdown. Soundfirm, Sydney invited Trackdown to establish Australia’s first dedicated music editing service for feature films at their new facilities in Fox Studios Australia. While operating Music Services at Soundfirm, Trackdown established Australia's first purpose-built orchestral recording studio in Stage 125 at Fox Studios, to be known as Trackdown Scoring Stage, which is now also used for live events, and for recording television shows and music videos. The scoring stage has been renamed The Simon Leadley Scoring Stage following Leadley's death in 2010. The Camperdown studio was taken over by Sean Carey from Thirsty Merc and possibly re-organised as Church St Studios (date unknown). Iva Davies is part owner. The studio's company name is Trackdown Digital Pty Ltd.
