Family

New Zealand Originally named Brother (its name was changed before any records were released because of a clash with the Beach Boys' label), Family was a New Zealand subsidiary of Pye Ltd. created in 1971 by Tim Murdoch. The first releases were in January 1972. When the New Zealand Pye Records was shut down in 1976 the label ceased to exist. PolyGram New Zealand took over the catalogue along with the rest of the Pye catalogue in 1980. Also appears as Family Label.
