RPM International Studios

US recording and singles mastering studio in Los Angeles, CA. Also printed as R.P.M. International Studios, R.P.M. Studios or RPM Studios, Los Angeles, CA. Please do not confuse with RPM Studios in New York, NY. The 11,488 square foot, two story building (RPM International Building) was built in 1964 by Ray Charles to serve as his creative home and the global center of Ray Charles Enterprises, Inc.. The original building design afforded space for offices and a recording studio on the second floor, as well as office tenant space on the first floor. RPM acquired a singles mastering lathe circa 1970 and cut their own singles masters.
