Recording studio founded in 1969 by Chuck Glaser, Jim Glaser, and Tompall Glaser in Nashville, Tennessee. A New York writer dubbed the place "Hillbilly Central" in 1974 because Nashville's outlaw crowd were likely to be found here at one time or another. See also Glaser Sound Studios, Nashville.
In 1984 it merged with Mike Shockley's studio, The Shock House, and Shockley became a producer and engineer at Glaser Sound. The studio is now named Compass Sound Studio and it is owned and operated by Compass Records.
