Sugar Hill Records Ltd.

Parent company of the Sugar Hill Records label. It was established on September 6, 1979 in New York by Sylvia Robinson, but maintained its principal place of business in New Jersey, and was installed as the successor to the various All Platinum-related companies. It handled not only the rights for the Sugar Hill Records label, but also for the Chess label, which had been previously acquired by All Platinum in 1976 and were subsequently acquired by MCA Records in 1985.
