Silver Spotlight Series
Настоящее имя: Silver Spotlight Series
This is a series, not a label. Only add this to the "Series" field, together with the actual label of the release.
Mostly reissues from the Capitol Records or United Artists Records labels.
45 RPM "golden oldie" reissue singles imprint of United Artists Records launched in 1962 (the back catalog LPs were either reissued on the parent label or licensed to Pickwick in later years).
It was reactivated in 1973 using a new logo depicting a 1957 Chevrolet with some releases on United Artists Records only displaying the logo.
The series was continued by EMI America from 1980 until it was retired after EMI-Manhattan took over reissue duties for the United Artists, Liberty, Imperial, Dolton Records, Minit, World Pacific and Aladdin catalogs in 1986. The Silver Spotlight singles still in print at that time were then incorporated into parent company Capitol Records' Starline reissue single series.
The cat# series with X-prefix commonly denotes MFG by Capitol Records, Inc., a subsidiary of Capitol Industries-EMI, Inc., so could not be released before 1974 anyway. Capitol acquired the United Artists Records catalog early in 1979, so the releases done earlier by UA, are not earlier than this date. As pointed above, Capitol continued this series since 1980.
