Recording and mastering studio in Los Angeles, California, USA.
A new studio was planned in September 1972 as part of a larger ABC Records office complex (replacing previous facilities), and was officially opened on 1 July 1974. The studio was specifically designed under the supervision of Phil Kaye to satisfy the needs of all ABC labels, ranging grom jazz, blues and pop to classical. The design encompassed three acoustic cavities bookended by two control rooms. The studio featured moveable walls was fully equipped for quad. Studio A, the original studio built before the new complex, remained 16-track, the new studios B and C were 24-track. There were also a production room for making tape copies for foreign licensees and a disk-cutting system (Neumann SAL 79).
The studio was closed in 1979 and became Scott / Sunstorm Studios. In 1981 it was sold again to Kenny Rogers, who renamed it to Lion Share Recording Studios.
