Boomstraat 1818

"Boomstraat 1818 has it's foundations in the late 90's. As an adolescent I started visiting Awakenings and I Love Techno in Gent. The type techno from that point in time was often aggressive, repetitive, loopy and fast. While attending class, or while playing my favorite pc game Quake 2, I would always listen to my favorite mixtapes such as Jeff Mills - Live at I Love Techno 1999 or Live @ the Liquid Room, Tokyo or mixtapes, by Robert Hood, Surgeon Marco Carola or Umek on my walkman. All these elements that made me fall in love with this music are reflected in these releases. All releases are often hardware based and will (eventually be) released on vinyl. Most tracks will have that mid/late 90's harder Detroit techno feeling. All ep's will be and will be Quake 2 themed or there will be a reference to it. Boomstraat 1818 aims to release timeless harder dj friendly old school Detroit techno music on vinyl and digital. Its biggest influences are M-Plant and Purpose Maker." Tom Stroeve
