The company operated the CBS/Sony label in Japan.
Ten years later, in August 1983, the company became a subsidiary of CBS/Sony Group Inc.
After Sony acquired CBS Records Inc. in 1988, CBS/Sony Inc. folded into CBS/Sony Group Inc. as 'CBS/Sony Records, a division of CBS/Sony Group Inc.'.
