Established by Bruce Morgan in the early 1960s as the first independent stereo mastering room in Los Angeles. Later, scoring engineer Phil Yeend bought the studio, and ran it as both a film and music house, performing a lot of sound effects creation and editing. In 1977, Buddy Brundo and his wife Susan bought the property and continue to operate the studio to this day.
Studio designer Vincent van Haaff designed the expansion ceilings in the studios, which became a much sought after feature, and imitated in other studios around the world.
