Recording & mixing studios located in London, UK. Owned and mentored by John Hudson. The company also ran Mayfair Mews Residential and had it's own PR - Mayfair Public Relations Ltd.
Mayfair Studios closed in December 2008.
The studio was first founded in the 1950s by composer Arthur Rye (Ryemuse Records / Ryemuse Ltd) as Ryemuse Studios, situated in London's Sth. Moulten St., Mayfair. By the 1960s it had become a location for creating singles and demos for many popular artists, also known as 'Spot Productions' from 1962. Cream recorded their 1st album at Ryemuse and future-hit artists, such as a young Reg Dwight, could be found sessioning there. Renamed 'Mayfair Studios' in June 1971, the studio was then taken over in 1979 and refurbished by John & Kate Hudson. In 1981, with 5 of their recordings in the Top 20, the studio moved to larger premises in London's Primrose Hill.
