Strawberry Studios
Настоящее имя: Strawberry Studios
Strawberry Recording Studios, Stockport/Manchester. Also referred to as "Strawberry North" and "Strawberry Studio North".
Not to be confused with Strawberry Studios South in Dorking; Strawberry Studios, France; and Strawberry Mastering in London, that was affiliated to the studio.
Strawberry North existed from 1968 until 1993 at No. 5 Waterloo Road, Stockport. Named after The Beatles’ song, "Strawberry Fields Forever".
Founded by Peter Tattersall and Eric Stewart and later joined by Graham Gouldman and Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, the studio was first used to produce the first four albums by [a39775]. But the studio soon became one of the most important recording studios in the UK. By the late 1970s, producer Martin Hannett was beginning an association with Strawberry that would last until his death in 1991.
In March 1986 Yellow 2 Studios took over Strawberry Stockport but leaving the two brands.
In the early 1990s the owners announced to concentrate on video production rather than sound recording, leading to a complete conversion of the studios.
