13 Japanese Birds

A 13 CD/13 month series inspired by Olivier Messiaen's Catalogue d'Oiseaux (Catalog of birds). Each CD was released one-a-month from January 2009 – January 2010. The series was available by subscription: just the CDs, or with a handmade bamboo box. Also available only with the box was an original acrylic-on-bamboo bird painting by Masami Akita. After the series was completed, the CDs were released in a tote bag with a bonus CDr and piece of xerox art by Masami. The bonus CDr and Jigokuhen are considered the 14th and 15th volumes of the series by the label.
