Druco
Настоящее имя: Druco
Defunct Belgian printing company based in Halle. For the pressing plant, please use Druco Music.
Druco was founded in 1964 as the printing department of Belgian supermarket chain and food distributor Colruyt. In 1979 it became Druco NV, a full-fledged printing company. By that time it had grown from 15 to 60 employees and generated a revenue of 180 million BEF. In 1980, after the bankruptcy of Fonior, Druco acquired Sobelpress S.A., renaming the pressing plant in Groot-Bijgaarden Elpeco. In 1987 the pressing plant was fully integrated and became known as Druco Music. By 1988 revenue had risen to 500 million BEF with 60% of the company's turnover realized outside of the Colruyt group. It employed 137 people at the time. In 2011 Druco was merged with Mitto (which Colruyt had taken over a couple of years earlier) to form the new communication and marketing company Symeta. By 2014 offset printing was no longer profitable and Colruyt decided to cease printing activities. The printing house at Beertsestraat (Halle) was closed; Symeta is now solely located in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw.
