Deadline Recordings
Настоящее имя: Deadline Recordings
Deadline Recordings was founded by Richard Ramirez in 1992. Originally Ramirez released three Black Leather Jesus cassettes under the label title "Dead Audio Media". That later changed in 1992 with release of the first three Black Leather Jesus releases reissued on vinyl (Ltd. edition) and the debut of Bill Skins Fifth "Self-titled" releases. Deadline Recordings was started due to the fact that most labels were not willing to release any of Ramirez's work since he didn't have the notoriety at the time. Ramirez used his own label as a vehicle to release not only his work, but other artists that had suffered the same fate with labels. Initially the label was run by Ramirez, Scott Houston, and Dwayne Cathey but both Houston and Cathey decided to focus on their own labels/work.
In the early years, Deadline Recordings releases items from such artists: Coathanger Abortion, Bill Skins Fifth, Threshold of Sleep, My Blood, Alto-D.9, Autopsy Experiment, Insect Libido Band, Pleasure Center, Serpent Orange, Corpus Delicti, Brain Tea, Taint, TLLN, & others.
Deadline Recordings' first official vinyl release was a split between Merzbow and Black Leather Jesus entitled "Bondage Playground". Then a 7-inch (Very limited) by Meat Shop Rapist entitled "Junkie". Later a split LP between M.S.B.R. and Black Leather Jesus would be released.
Deadline Recordings' first official compact disc release was the various artists compilation, "Cataclastic Fracture (Volume 1)" in 1994. Then the following year, Ramirez's debut full-length CD "Deconstructed Hand Device". More followed.
In 1997, Deadline Recordings took a break then finally returned officially in 2000. The label now not only caters to harsh noise, but to what it originally had started out releasing: dark ambient and experimental music. Room 2A is the main label focus for Ramirez. Deadline mainly has become about reissues at the moment.
Richard Ramirez is also the organizer of the two festivals: Dead Audio Music Festival and Eyes Behind the Wall (the first HNW fest).
