Jacks Beat Records

Danish regional indie label that in the period 1965-69 released more than 60 singles and 4 LP's. Founded by 19 year old entrepreneur Jack Fridthjof in 1965, the label gave provincial bands - mainly from Jutland - a chance to record and release their music for a small cost. Many bands on the label was local amateurs who never made it, but a few - like Gnags - kicked off their career in the labels two-track egg box studio located in the small town of Nykøbing Mors. Most of the records were released in a few hundred copies and are today hard-to-find collector's items. Name variations Beat Records and Jacks Beat were used in the early days.
