Messiah Records (2)
Настоящее имя: Messiah Records (2)
1980s-1990s gospel label from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, owned by Tony Beck.
"Messiah Records is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania black owned gospel label, a Son Of Man production, owned by Tony Beck who used to be a bass guitarist associated with The Dixie Hummingbirds. Tony Beck is the son of renowned Alabama native but eventual Philadelphia based preacher and singing evangelist Elder Charles Beck that recorded on Decca, Gotham, King and Folkways among other labels. Messiah had a limited output of 45's and Lp’s from 1981 to at least 1993, Most of the records were produced by Tony Beck himself. In the 100 series the label often released an album and a 45 or 12’ from the same album, with the same release number, refer to 101, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108 and 111 below (no 100 release occurred but releases 101 onward were issued). There are actually two separate artists/groups that issued an album with the number 117, I''ve listed them both in the discography. There are two other labels named Messiah, one out of Colonia, N.J. from 1973; the other is from Houston, Texas, however, neither of these two Messiah labels are connected to Messiah Records out of Philadelphia." - Just Gospel, 2019
